Maple Pecan Espresso Martini

 

INGREDIENTS :

Maple Pecan Simple Syrup:

¼ C pecans, roughly chopped & toasted

½ C maple syrup

½ C water

¼ t vanilla extract

Espresso Martini:

1 ½ oz Waterloo Antique Gin

1 oz espresso or small espresso shot

½ oz maple pecan simple syrup

½ oz coffee liqueur

cinnamon pecan rim, to garnish

whole pecan, to garnish

METHOD :

To make the maple pecan simple syrup, heat a small pot on medium to high heat. Add the pecans, maple syrup, and water. Stir until maple syrup is dissolved. Turn the heat to low and let simmer for five minutes. Strain and let cool to room temperature. Stir in the vanilla extract.

To make the cinnamon pecan rim add cinnamon and finely crushed pecans to a plate. Dip the martini glass into maple syrup and then immediately into the cinnamon mixture. Set aside.

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for ten seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Then garnish with a whole pecan.
